Tilkkutäkkejä / quilts

Lisäilen tässä kuvia myös tilkkutäkeistä, joita olen ommellut parin vuoden aikana. Ne löytyvät omalta sivultaan. Toivottavasti pidätte niistä!

I'm also adding some pictures of quilts which I've sewn over the past couple of years. They can be found in their own page. I hope you like them!

Takaisin kotona / Back home

Matka oli aurinkoinen ja ihana. Laukkuja on taas into ommella reissun jälkeen.Neljä on mennyt kaupaksi, joten se on hyvä uutinen.

The trip was sunny and wonderful. I'm eager to sew more bags after the trip. I've sold four of them, which is good news.

Lomalle

Lähden huomenaamuna viikoksi Egyptiin toiseksi vanhimman tyttäreni kanssa, joten blogi ei päivity tällä ajalla. Toivottavasti tekniset ongelmat lukijaksi kirjautumisessa häviävät sillä välin. Muutin asetuksia niin, että kaikki kävijät voivat kommentoida kuvia ja tekstejä. Jos se saa aikaan asiattomien juttujen ilmaantumisen sivuille, vaihdan asetukset taas tiukemmiksi. Kommentoithan nimelläsi!

Tomorrow morning I will go to Egypt for a week with my second oldest daughter, therefore there won't be anything new in the blog during that time. I hope that the technical problems with signing in to be my reader will dissapear while I'm gone. I changed the settings here so, that any visitor can comment on the pictures or texts. If that causes that inappropriate texts will appear in the blog, I will change the settings back into more strick ones. Please comment with you own name!

9. Yhdeksäs laukku / The ninth bag (myyty/sold)

Yhdeksäs on nelosen sisko. Lisää mustaa ja hopeaa talven juhliin. Tästä mallista on pidetty, joten täytyy ommella lisää palattuani Suomeen.

The ninth one is the sister of the fourth bag. More black and silver for the parties of the winter season. This pattern has been liked, so I need to sew more of these as soon as I return to Finland.

8. Kahdeksas laukku / The eighth bag (myyty/sold)

Kahdeksas laukku on ensimmäisen sisko, suunnilleen samoista kankaista tehty. Yhteen laukkuun kuluu niin vähän kutakin kangasta, että vaikka ostaisi vain 10 cm kangaspakasta, riittää kangasta kuitenkin lukuisiin laukkuihin. Toki jos ne saavat uuden kodin eri ihmisten luota, ei se haittaa.

The eighth bag is the sister of the first one, made out of almost the same fabrics. You use so little of each fabric in one bag, that even if you only buy 10 cms from the fabric, you have enough for several bags. Surely, if the bags get new homes from different people, that won't matter.

7. Seitsemäs laukku / The seventh bag (myyty/sold)

Tämä on aikaisempia yksinkertaisempi pikkuinen iltalaukku. Tyttäreni oli muutama vuosi sitten yrittänyt tehdä itselleen juhlamekkoa, mutta ei ollut oikein onnistunut. Hän luovutti vaatteen nyt materiaaliksi tähän laukkuun. Tästä tuli niin herkkä, että tein tuollaisen ohuen olkahihnan.

This little evening bag is simplier than the previous bags. My daughter had tried to make herself a party dress a few year ago, but hadn't really succeeded. She gave me the dress now to be used as material for this bag. This ended up so delicate than I made a thin shoulder stripe. 

Leikkuualustakassi / The bag for the cutting mat

Tämä kassi on syypää koko laukkuinnostukseeni. Tein vihdoin, kaksi vuotta tilkkutöitä harrastettuani, laukun suurelle alustalle, jonka päällä tilkkutöissä käytettävät suikaleet ja palaset leikataan. Olin hyvin tyytyväinen tulokseen, tosin väritys on niin syksyinen, että täytyyköhän minun tehdä uusi talveksi ja sitten taas kevääksi...

This bag is to blame for my entire bag-enthusiasm. I finally made, after quilting for two years, a bag for the big cutting mat, you need when cutting the stripes and pieces of fabric you need in quilting. I was very happy with the result, although the coloring is so autumn-like that I'm wondering if I should make another one for the winter and then again for the spring...
